Appeal a report

Every business deserves the right to challenge a report it believes is wrong.

Who can appeal.

Appeals are available to merchants and business owners who have a claim on their public record. You must be an authenticated user with a verified connection to the business in question. If you have not yet claimed your business on REKKN, claim it here first.

Valid grounds for appeal.

Reporter was not a customer. The person who filed the report never had a transaction with your business.

Fabricated evidence. The evidence submitted with the report was forged, doctored, or does not correspond to a real transaction.

Issue was already resolved. The issue described in the report was resolved before the report was filed, and you have documentation to prove it.

Factual inaccuracies. The report contains specific factual errors that can be disproved with documentation.

Appeals that do not fall into one of these categories will be returned without review. Disagreeing with a report's tone or sentiment is not grounds for appeal — the evidence and facts are what matter.

What evidence you need.

Your appeal must include counter-evidence that directly addresses the grounds you select. Examples: transaction logs showing the reporter was never a customer, correspondence proving the issue was resolved before the report was filed, or documentation disproving specific factual claims.

Vague denials without documentation are not sufficient. The burden of proof is on the appellant to provide clear, verifiable evidence.

How long it takes.

Appeals are reviewed within 5 business days of submission. You will receive a written decision by email at the address you provide. If additional information is needed, the reviewer will contact you — this pauses the clock until you respond.

What happens if your appeal is upheld.

If the appeal is upheld, the report is removed from your public record. The reporter is notified that their report was removed following an appeal. Your trust score is recalculated to reflect the removal.

What happens if your appeal is denied.

If the appeal is denied, the report remains on the public record. You will receive a written explanation of the decision, including which evidence was considered and why it did not meet the threshold for removal.

The claim status changes to “On Record” and the appeal outcome is documented in the claim's history.

Escalation.

If your appeal is denied and you believe the review was flawed, you may escalate once to a senior reviewer. Escalation requests must be submitted within 14 days of the denial and must include new evidence or a specific procedural objection. Escalation decisions are final.

To escalate a denied appeal, contact appeals@rekkn.ai with your claim ID and escalation grounds.

Submit an appeal.

You must be signed in as a verified merchant user to submit an appeal. If you are not signed in, log in first.
